Description
Black Orchid Eau de Parfum by Tom Ford is an amber floral spicy fragrance for women, released in 2006 and created by David Apel and Pierre Negrin. The debut fragrance of the house, it is dark, rich and opulent, built around a lush black orchid accord with an earthy, sensual edge.
The opening is unusual and striking, with earthy black truffle and tart blackcurrant woven through gardenia, ylang-ylang and jasmine, brightened by bergamot, mandarin orange and Amalfi lemon. At the heart, the orchid accord unfolds with warm spices, ripe fruity notes and lotus, wrapped in creamy white florals.
The base is deep and enveloping, combining dark chocolate and earthy patchouli with smooth vanilla, smoky incense and warm amber, grounded by sandalwood, vetiver and white musk. The overall impression is luxurious and mysterious, a velvety, decadent composition best suited to cooler evenings and memorable occasions.
